Make a difference in our community
and around the world!
This is the 63rd year of CROP events in the US. This is the 25th year of the Walk in Boulder. Some 2,000 communities across the country participate in CROP Hunger Walks each year, raising funds for local hunger-fighting agencies as well as for the international relief and development efforts of Church World Service and other global hunger-fighting agencies. Millions of people around the world walk for water, for food, to get to school and to get to jobs - Ending Hunger One Step at a Time.
Last year we had 480 walkers who raised $64,586 and we were the top money-raising CROP Walk in the Rocky Mountain region.
Let's Raise $65,000 This Year - Help Us Exceed Our Goal!!
Where the Donations Go
Community Food Share
(24%) It is estimated that Boulder and Broomfield counties have over 50,000 residents living at/or below the poverty line. CFS distributes food to those in need though over 50 member agencies AND through our own direct service programs. In 2009, CFS distributed 6.6 million meals. $1 donated = 4 meals
Last year Boulder County CROP Walk donated over $14,000 to CFS, allowing them to distribute more than 57,000 meals!
Church World Service
(75%) Church World Service is the relief, development and refugee assistance ministry of 35 Protestant, Orthodox and Anglican denominations in the United States. Working in partnership with indigenous organizations in more than 80 countries, CWS works worldwide to meet human needs and foster self-reliance for all whose way is hard.
Within the United States, Church World Service assists communities in responding to disasters, resettles refugees, promotes fair national and international policies, provides educational resources, and offers opportunities to join a people-to-people network of local and global caring through participation in CROP Hunger Walks, the Tools & Blankets Program, and the CWS Kits Program.
Bread for the World
(1%) With over 30 years of seeking justice, Bread for the World is a Christian voice for ending hunger. A nonpartisan citizens' movement of 50,000 people of faith, including 2,000 churches, BFW members help hungry people by lobbying our nation's decision makers on legislation that addresses hunger in our communities and around the world.
