The Boulder CROP Hunger Walk
The Boulder County CROP Hunger Walk takes place every October as a part of a nationwide effort to raise funds to help alleviate hunger and poverty here in the United States and internationally. Virginia McConnell of Boulder was one of the main founders of the first walk in 1985 (which raised about $5,628). She liked the practical idea of a walk to raise awareness and funds for those suffering from hunger and poverty. The first walk visited several Boulder food pantries and followed a 10 mile route!
Virginia helped organize the walk for the next 15 years and participated in every walk for almost three decades and worked to support it mission.
